Braun 7071cc is the new generation Braun Series 7 electric shaver that comes with a SmartCare dock. Braun left the older bulky design and made a new simple, lightweight design in the new Series 7 shavers. In this article, I’ll share every aspect of the Braun Series 7 7071cc shaver, including its pros and cons. You should read this full article before you buy your new electric shaver.

Features and Specifications Analysis

The Shaving Elements

Successively, the new generation Braun Series 7 shavers also come with 3 foil blades. The Braun 7071cc comes with a Braun 73S foil head. The new head has been designed with thinner foils instead of older, comparably thicker foils. But the older foil blocks were framed with metal edges, whereas the newer foils are framed with plastic edges. Therefore, the older ones are sturdier than, the newer ones. However, the new foil blocks are enough to do their job efficiently with super-sharp metal blades. The foil blocks are fully flexible to interact with the facial curves and make the shaving result efficient and comfortable.

AutoSense Motor

The manufacturer says the new motor is another improvement in the Braun Series 7 7071cc shaver. The motor can read the beard density and automatically adapt to the beards with adjustable shaving power accordingly. However, practically I found the autosensing motor most of the time provides the highest power for the full shave. But it should have provided different power in different areas since different part of the face has different types of beard density. On the other hand, if you are familiar with the older Braun series 7 shavers you’ll find the shavers come with power setting buttons to select the shaving mode. Where you also have to select the turbo mode most of the time. But you can minimize the power by the (-) button in need. However, Braun is inspired by their highest-end shavers Braun Series 9 which also features autosense motors. So I think the new Autosense motor of the Braun 7071cc is more advanced than the older ones somehow.

The 360° Flex Head

Braun Series 7 7071cc comes with a flexible shaving head that flexes in different directions for making the shaving result flawless. To clarify, the head and the shaving elements move independently at different angles and adapt with the facial contours automatically to shave every part of the face even hard-to-reach areas. The manufacturer said it’s a 360° flexible head which I think is a bit overwhelming.  However, the shaving head is pretty good for pivoting and flexing for comfortable and efficient shaving results.

The SmartCare Dock

The older generation Braun Series 7 (CC) shavers come with a cleaning and charging station that the manufacturer updated with a new look and functionality as a SmartCare center. The new SmartCare center is simpler and smarter than the older one that I really liked personally. It cleans, dries, lubricates, and charges the shaver automatically. There is no visible button on the new SmartCare center for starting its process but there is a completely new holding arm on the center that sticks the shaver after placing it on the dock. There is a pressing system on the holding arm that you need to press after placing the shaver and it will automatically lock the shaver and connect with the functionalities of the center. However, both the older and the newer Braun Series 7 shaver’s cleaning dock/SmartCare center use the same alcohol-based cleaning cartridge. Therefore, the hygiene system of both docks is identical.

EasyClick Trimmer

Again, the Braun Series 7 7071cc comes with EasyClick technology that allows you to easily attach and detach the heads. The shaver comes with a trimmer attachment for beard and precision trimming. The trimmer attachment also comes with EasyClick technology where you need to detach the foil head and attach the trimmer head for trimming. The older Series 7 shavers feature a popup trimmer at the rare side that you need to slide up for releasing and using it. The new EasyClick trimmer takes over the popup trimmers place and that looks like the dedicated trimmers. But it’s not as efficient as the dedicated trimmers for trimming full beards or hairs. However, it has been designed for making the edges, precision trimming, and detailing. I think it’s good enough in its duty that I’ll clarify later on.

Wet/Dry Shaving

All the new generation Braun Series 7 shavers including 7071cc have been designed for wet + dry shaves. So, there is no doubt that you can use your favorite shaving cosmetics for refreshing wet shaves and moreover, have quick dry shaves with the Braun 7071cc shaver.

Waterproof Design

The Braun Series 7 7071cc is 100% waterproof that can be merged under water for cleaning. On the other hand, you can shave under the shower for a refreshing shave without any worry about water causing problems. After cleaning or having shower shaves, you should jerk out the water for extra care of the shaver.

Power Source

The Braun Series 7 7071cc is a cordless electric shaver that comes with Lithium-ion rechargeable battery. The battery serves 50 minutes of cordless performance with a 1 hour full charge. Moreover, there is a quick charging option for having urgent shaves if the battery is empty and you are on the go. As you know there is a SmartCare center with the package that automatically charges the shaver. You can also use the universal charging adapter directly to charge the shaver and that will take the same time for a full charge.

New Improved Display

One of the most compelling features of the new generation Braun Series 7 is the upgraded LED display. The older display was not user-friendly enough and felt odd to me. I like the new display of Braun 7071cc that shows the battery’s remaining time, charging alert, hygiene indication, replacement head indication, and travel lock indication. The battery power showing display is not much obvious like the Braun Series 9 but I think it’s enough as a first upgrade from the older odd ones.

Locking System

Unfortunately, the Braun Series 7 7071cc doesn’t have any head lock system. Therefore, you can not lock the flexible head for precise shaving in problem areas. That might be a downside for the new generation Series 7 shaver. I think Braun should take it into account and add headlock technology in further updates.

However, the shaver comes with travel lock technology. When your shaver is not in use and you carry it in a bag or put it into a gadget box it will not automatically turn on with accidental presses. To clarify, the travel lock system prevents the shaver from accidentally turning on with unintentional touches of the power button. This is a common feature in the premium shavers though.

Replacement Parts

Braun is always the boss for their quality shaving head. Because the Braun shaver heads last 1.1/2 percent longer than the other brand shavers. To clarify, other renowned brands recommend replacing their shaver heads after 12 months of use. But Braun says, their shaving heads last nearly 18 months and you need to replace the shaver head after 18 months of use. However, as mentioned before the Braun Series 7 7071cc comes with the Braun 73s replacement head that is widely available on Braun’s showrooms and Amazon. I don’t say to replace the shaver head after 18 months, but I would like to recommend you replace the head after the current one gets dull. Therefore, the replacement period may be prior to or later than 18 months according to your shaving habit.

Verdict

The Braun Series 7 7071cc is a smart shaver that comes with a mid-range budget but it comes with all the premium features. It’s a great solution for men who like to shave regularly and want to have comfortable and close performance. And moreover, it’s for those who want to spend less than the super expensive Braun Series 9, Philips S9000, or Panasonic Arc5. But it’s not as sturdy as those premium-built shavers. However, I think it’s enough for doing its job efficiently that provides some extra features than the premium ones. To sum up, it’s a money saver but a smart shaver.
